Second
season driver Stuart Williams likes to go about his
Sprintcar racing by flying under the radar and he has
done exactly that, even with his rivals, by hitting
the lead of the point standings in the Thunder through
the Plains Country Sprintcar Series.
After
four rounds of the Thunder through the Plains Series,
the Badboy Mowers Motorsport team head the current point
standings and they have gained command by virtue of
posting a pair of impressive podium finishes in the
last two rounds at Gilgandra Speedway and Morris Park
Speedway tracks in Western NSW.
“I
really like running the Thunder through the Plains Series
as it gives me a chance to get more experience at new
tracks and also meet new fans, as a lot of them have
never seen Sprintcar racing before,” the 26-year-old
said. “In the past two rounds of the series I have managed
to finish in second place and I have been thrilled with
those results as it has been the first time I have ever
finished on the podium in a Sprintcar.”

Earlier
this season Williams and his team gained a brand-new
sponsor in Badboy Mowers and since then Williams’ has
grown substantially in confidence.
“It’s
amazing what a bit of sponsorship does for your confidence
as I have managed to finish on the podium twice since
Badboy Mowers have become involved with our team and
it’s certainly great to have their support,” he enthused.
“The guys from Badboy Mowers are only new to Sprintcar
racing and they absolutely love it. Later in the season
we are planning a few promotional exercises with Badboy
Mowers incorporating both our car and the whole team
as it’s all about giving our valued sponsors more bangs
for their buck.”
The
plan for the remainder of the 2008/09 season for last
season’s NSW Sprintcar Association ‘Rookie of the Year’
is to maintain his lead in the Thunder through the Plains
Series point standings with two rounds remaining at
both Gunnedah Speedway (Saturday night, April 18) and
Gilgandra Speedway (Saturday night, April 25) and then
make the trip up to Lismore Speedway in Northern NSW
to contest the annual Gold Cup on Saturday night, May
9.
Williams
and his NSW # 46 Badboy Mowers supported Eagle are next
going to be in action this Saturday night (March 28)
for the final round of the Tyrepower Parramatta City
Raceway (TPCR) Sprintcar Track Championship.
